Rangiora

COVID-19

Tuesday 7th September- online bookings are now available :)

Monday 6th September- after Level 2 announcement

Please see below info for Level 2 details-

the only new info at the moment is that masks are mandatory for patients

First day of business will be Wednesday 8th September (Oxford), and Thursday 9th September (Rangiora)

If you already have an appointment booked from before lockdown for this week/next week, the appointment still stands- we will be in contact to ensure you wish to keep your appointment

Monday 6th September- before 4 pm announcement

Hopefully at 4pm today we will be told the South Island will be going down to Level 2, or a different type of Level 2 to 2020's level 2.

IF level 2 is announced, all patients who had appointments booked during the lockdown period will be contacted from 430pm today to organise a new appointment .

The priority will be patients who have waited the longest since their last appointments

I have however prioritised those patients who have higher risk feet. I will be working longer days and the first few weekends to catch up with the back-log. If you feel you have an urgent or semi-urgent issue, please let reception know and I can further assess.

Online bookings will once again be available once the majority of existing appointments have been rebooked- hopefully by Tuesday afternoon.

Social distancing and a higher level of hygiene- eg disinfecting the front door handle, waiting room chairs etc several times a day- will also be implemented.

I will be notified by the Ministry of Health and the Podiatrist's Board of NZ as to the exact requirements, after the level change has been announced. This will also mean we cannot simply "squeeze" you all in, as we must maintain high levels of hygiene and safety as directed by authorities.

It is rare that I run late; but if I do, I am not allowed to have books/magazines/newspapers/children toys in the reception area.

I have PayWave/contactless payments enabled on the EFTPOS machine. It is preferable you do not pay by cash if possible.

I have copied the waiting room/waiting in cars section below from an earlier blog:

Social distancing measures will be undertaken during Level 2.

Extra chairs will be available outside the front door (in the corridor) at the Rangiora clinic.

For both clinics (Rangiora and Oxford), please advise if you wish to wait in your car instead of the waiting room.

If you have a mobile phone, I can ring you directly when it is time to come in for your appointment.

If you do not, by prior arrangement I can come out to your car when it is your appointment time.

As with the last Level 2, I am lucky to be working from a quiet business in a quiet location.

Friday is the only day that 2 practitioners are on-site at Rangiora, when Melissa from Simply Ear Care is also on site.

If you have an existing appointment which falls within the first few days of Level 2, we will contact you to ensure the day/time still suits. Social distancing measures will be undertaken during Level 2.

Hope to see you soon!

30th August 2021- 4pm announcement

My understanding from todays 4pm announcement is the governments current intention is for Level 3 to remain for 1 week, so Level 2 should begin on Wed 8th September.

From mid next week, we will be contacting those patients who missed their booked appointments during Level 3 and 4 will be contacted to re- book.

Anyone who would like an appointment is free to ring or email to be added to the to-ring list.

Online bookings will be re-enabled once the bulk of the above people have been re-booked.

 Blog 24th August 2021

Latest level 4 extension is until this coming Friday.

We have been informed health practitioners can not see patients face to face during Level 4 unless there is a "direct threat to life or limb".

Meantime, I have a uni assignment due soon, as well as home schooling :)

  Blog 20th August 2021 330pm

Per the governments latest level announcement, NZ remains under Level 4                                                                                      conditions until at least this coming Wednesday.

Last lockdown, podiatrists were not allowed to work until Level 2.

Please read the initial blog from 17th August if you have not already.

  Keep safe everyone.

Our Latest Blog Entry

17 August 2021

Back into Level 4 for at least 3 days as of midnight tonight.

If the lockdown levels are unchanged from last time, I will not be able to see patients in person until Level 2.

I have been fully COVID vaccinated for some months now.

High Risk Patients- generally those on the DHB paid 4 visits per annum- please do email me at [email protected] if you are concerned about your feet,

and I will call you back ASAP.

Under very strict circumstances I can see patients under Level 4 and Level 3 conditions. However, this is highly unlikely to occur; you will most likely to be directed to A&E/24 hour clinic/your GP,

however please do let me know, as I can let you know the urgency level required, and supply helpful paperwork and details to the appropriate health team.

Ongoing patients- if I see you regularly and change your treatment often- here's looking at you verrucae/plantar wart patients!- I will be in contact if we are locked down past your regular appointment review to let you know what you should be doing at home

Everyone else who is a current patient- Anyone who has any questions/queries, please email me on [email protected]
